Closed Captions for Dynamic Videos with LinkedIn Backdrops

Mark Coulson
I would love to have the ability to add closed captions to dynamic videos that use LinkedIn profiles as backdrops. Currently, while I can add closed captions to newly recorded videos, it seems challenging to ensure they display correctly on dynamic videos with LinkedIn backdrops. This feature would greatly enhance accessibility and user experience, especially since many users prefer not to turn on audio.

Hi Mark Coulson, thanks for the request. Closed captions on Dynamic Videos with LinkedIn profile backdrops makes a lot of sense for accessibility and for viewers who watch on mute.
To make sure we scope this correctly, can you share a bit more detail on a few points?
1) Where do you need the captions to appear?
- In the Sendspark player/embed
- On the landing page where the Dynamic Video is hosted
- After exporting/downloading the video file
- When posting the video to LinkedIn or other platforms
2) What caption format do you need?
- Toggleable closed captions (like a CC button)
- Burned in subtitles (always visible)
- Either is fine
3) How are you generating captions today for recorded videos?
- Auto generated in Sendspark
- Uploading an SRT/VTT file
- Manually editing text
4) For Dynamic Videos, do you want captions to be:
- The same for everyone (static captions for the base video)
- Personalized per viewer (for example, name or company changes in the captions too)
5) What is the main issue you are seeing right now?
- Captions do not show up at all on Dynamic Videos
- Captions show but are misaligned, cut off, or behind the LinkedIn backdrop
- Captions show in some players but not others
If you can also share a sample Dynamic Video link (or a screenshot of what you are seeing), we can confirm whether this is a limitation of the current Dynamic Video rendering, the LinkedIn backdrop layer, or the playback environment. From there we can propose the best approach and timeline.
