Pre-Recording Dynamic Background Confirmation

I encountered an issue where I spent a significant amount of time creating videos only to realize that I should have used the camera alone instead of camera+screen for dynamic backgrounds. It would be beneficial if the system asked whether a dynamic background is desired before recording, and based on the response, restricts other recording options. This would prevent similar mistakes in the future.

Hi Sebastian, thanks for flagging this. To make sure we scope the right solution, can you confirm a few details about your workflow?
1) Where are you recording from when this happens (Sendspark Chrome extension, web app, desktop app)?
2) When you say “dynamic background,” do you mean the virtual background / background blur feature that requires camera only?
3) At what point do you realize it is wrong: after recording, during preview, or only after you have already shared it?
4) Would a pre-recording prompt be enough (for example: “Are you using a dynamic background?” Yes = camera only, No = allow camera+screen), or would you prefer the camera+screen option be disabled anytime dynamic background is enabled?
5) Do you ever need to switch mid-session (start camera only with dynamic background, then switch to screen share), or is it always one mode per video?
If you can share which recording options you typically choose and what you expected to happen, we can propose the cleanest UX so you do not lose time on re-records.
