Send voice notes via Gmail integration

I want to send a voice note through Sendspark's Gmail integration, but currently, it only supports sending videos with an animated GIF preview. It would be beneficial to have the option to send standalone voice notes directly through the integration, as this would enhance communication flexibility.

Ayesha thanks for the request. To make sure we scope this correctly, can you share a bit more about how you’d want “voice notes via the Gmail integration” to work?
1) Recording and source
- Should the voice note be recorded inside Sendspark (mic recording), or uploaded as an audio file (mp3, m4a, wav)?
- Do you want to reuse an existing Sendspark video’s audio track as a voice note, or is this strictly audio only?
2) How it appears in Gmail
- Should it insert as an embedded player in the email body, or as a link with a preview card, or as an attachment?
- If it’s a preview card, should it look similar to the current animated GIF video preview, just with an audio play button?
3) Recipient experience
- Should recipients be able to play it directly in their inbox, or click through to a Sendspark landing page to listen?
- Any requirements around captions or a transcript included in the email?
4) Tracking and analytics
- Do you need the same tracking you get with videos (opens, plays, watch or listen time), and should it show up in the same analytics views?
5) Sending workflow
- Where should this live in the Gmail add on: a new “Voice note” tab, or an option alongside “Video”?
- Do you need templates or variables (name, company) for the landing page or message around the audio?
6) Use case and constraints
- Roughly how long are the voice notes you’d send (15 seconds, 1 to 2 minutes, longer)?
- Is the main goal faster creation than video, smaller file size, or avoiding being on camera?
If you can answer those, we can propose the best approach and confirm what’s feasible within Gmail’s constraints while keeping the experience consistent with Sendspark.
